Wedding Ceremony & Reception
April 26, 2026
Our wedding day unfolds with a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony held in the morning — a sacred celebration rooted in centuries of customs, each honoring purity, unity, and mutual respect.
Sacred Rituals

Antarpat
The Antarpat ceremony signifies the separation of the bride and groom before they see each other. The cloth held between them represents their individual lives before union. As the groom arrives, a silk cloth (antarpat) is held between the couple, symbolizing the sacred boundary before their union.

Mangalashtak
Families recite auspicious verses as the cloth is lowered, marking the moment the bride and groom see each other for the first time — a tender and joy-filled instant. This is done to invoke blessings from the gods and guests, wishing the couple a prosperous and happy married life.

Mangalsutra & Kanyadaan
The bride's parents offer their blessings as the groom ties the Mangalsutra (a sacred necklace) around the bride's neck, symbolizing eternal love and protection.

Saptapadi
Together, the couple walks seven sacred steps around the holy fire, each step representing a vow they make to one another from friendship and trust to love and lifelong companionship.

Akshata and Blessings
Family and friends shower the couple with Akshata (rice mixed with turmeric) as a blessing for fertility, prosperity, longevity and happiness.
When the rituals conclude, the couple is officially married — surrounded by flowers, music, and joyful smiles.
Reception
The celebrations continue in the afternoon with an elegant reception, where we'll enjoy a delicious meal together — a heartfelt celebration of love that brings two cultures and families together.
